Monique Wright, CPA
CEO/Founder
Monique has started Beach Cities Tax & Accounting twenty two years ago, after taking over a small client base of sixty individuals and some small businesses from her former boss and mentor. Since 1997, the firm has experienced a steady growth, currently serving over four hundred clients. Monique is a long time South Bay resident, and she enjoys the coastal life. Originally from Poland, she came over with her family in 1981, and completed her education as well as professional CPA designation in the U.S. Over the years, Monique served as an officer for Torrance PTA, while her three children attended the local schools. She stays involved in the local community, by volunteering during beach clean- up, and doing pro-bono accounting work for Torrance school district. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, ballroom dancing, and dining at the local restaurants. She has been married to Rich Wright for 31 years, whom she met at El Camino College.
Katherine
Senior Admin
Katherine joined our team February 2020; she is an administrative and customer service specialist with two decades of successful experience in client communication and day to day office essentials. She has experience working in accounting, food & beverage and entertainment & staging industries. In 2018, she became a Certified CA Notary. She is a strong believer in the power of positive thinking & communication in the workplace. She enjoys watching the sunset and capturing photos. Photography being a hobby along with spending free time with her family, crafting, watching sports, food tasting and always happy to find a great standalone coffee shop.
Steven
Senior Accountant
Steven grew up in Los Angeles, California. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in accounting at California State University Northridge. While receiving his Bachelor’s degree, he worked in public accounting and continued until he went to work in private industry where he worked as a controller for 7 years. Steven joined our team in December of 2019 where he prepares tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. Steven enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He enjoys listening to music, RVing and taking long walks.
Yancy
CPA
Yancy obtained his CPA license in 2006 has been with the firm since 2008 as a seasonal tax preparer. Yancy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from California State Polytechnic University Pomona and a Master of Business Administration in Management from California State University Fullerton. During his free time, Yancy enjoys spending his time catching up on movies, traveling, and staying active. His hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, and is currently exploring woodworking.
Brian
Staff Accountant
Brian attended El Camino Community College and transferred to California State University of Dominguez Hills to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 2021. During his last two years of college, Brian interned at a CPA Tax Accounting Firm where he was exposed early to the hands-on knowledge of accounting. Brian joined Beach Cities Tax & Accounting in June 2021. He enjoys spending time with his friends and dog, trying new food, making/listening music, and traveling.
Olivia
Admin
Olivia joined the Beach Cities team during the summer of 2021 as an administrative assistant. She works part time at Beach Cities, and also attends El Camino College part time. In her free time, she enjoys tabletop gaming, creative writing, and drawing
